Doesn't work too well with 44mm+ watches March 18, 2010 J. Ndungu (NJ) Bought a Triumph 44mm watch and this tool set didn't really do the job well, though i was able to use some of the other tools to work around. I wasn't able to use the correct tool to resize the watch as well as change the battery but for a smaller sized watch...this would have been perfect!
Good for sizing bracelets. March 16, 2010 Paydirt (California) This is a pretty good starter kit for the money, when you can catch it on sale. I caught it on sale for $6 & mainly bought it for the block, punch pins/hammer. The case back tools are pretty cheap & you risk scratching the case back if your not careful. If your going to open case backs, buy a better tool for that.
Watch repair March 15, 2010 J. Aceti (Washington Crossing, PA) I prefer to replace batteries in my own watches since a jeweler buggered up a good watch with poor mechanical skills. Unless you trust your jeweler to do a good job, many shops turn the task of replacing a battery over to the 'kid'. Lacking finesse they pry open the case with a swiss army knife scratching the delicate and shine surfaces. Rather a simple kit like this helps you replace batteries and change strap length. Unfortunetly, the tools are poorly made for most quality watches. The device to open the case is too thick to open any of my watches. Look for a better quality set.
Excellent kit March 12, 2010 D. Z. Aboumrad I've never owned one of this watch repair kits, but I can say that the quality is very good, and for the price I believe is very worth it. I don't repair watches, I just bought it so I can change the strap on an old one, and I'll probably never use 80% of the tools. Anyway I'd recomend it for a more-than-amateur repair person.
No Instructions March 11, 2010 R. Cook (Conroe, TX) This appears to be a very good tool kit for watch maintenance, but I was disappointrd because it came with no instructions whatsoever.
